Pangasinan’s Tourist Rest Area Welcomes 27,000+ Visitors, Generating Php 1.24M Sales in Five Months

LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN — Along the sun-kissed shores of the Lingayen Gulf, the province’s first Tourist Rest Area (TRA) is fast becoming a vital hub for travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and local cultural experience in one destination.

Inaugurated on February 05, 2026, the TRA has recorded an impressive 27,060 visitors within its first five months of operation, a steady stream of both local and international travelers drawn not only by necessity, but by the ease and experience it offers.

Beachgoers and strollers alike have access to a fully equipped information center, clean and PWD-accessible restrooms, shower facilities, and a lactation room for nursing mothers. Digital nomads and on-the-go professionals can settle into the numerous charging and workstations that complement the on-site café that serves a variety of hot and cold beverages, providing a comfortable space for relaxation.

And at the heart of its facility lies its vibrant pasalubong center, a showcase of Pangasinan’s abundant resources. Thirty-two (32) micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) from across the province showcase products that tell stories of tradition and identity. Shelves are lined up with delicacies, handicrafts, and locally made goods, each item offering a tangible piece of the province to bring home.

In just five months, TRA has generated over Php 1.24 million in sales, underscoring its role not only as a marketplace but as a meaningful driver of local economic growth. For many entrepreneurs, it represents more than visibility—it is an opportunity to connect their products with a wider audience and sustain their livelihoods.

The success of the Tourist Rest Area reflects a broader vision for Pangasinan’s tourism landscape—one that values accessibility, inclusivity, and community empowerment. It demonstrates how infrastructure, when designed with intention, can elevate both the visitor experience and the lives of those behind it. Because the Tourist Rest Area in Pangasinan is not merely a place to stop over, but a space that invites visitors to stay a little longer, appreciate a little deeper, and return with more than just memories.
