The Health and Wellness Club of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan, in collaboration with the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgO), officially launched the Green Wellness 2021: Plantito and Plantita Day at the Panagsinan Training and Development Center II in Lingayen, Pangasinan this April 27, 2021.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, people have developed various hobbies to keep themselves active and to nurture their emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health. Gardening has become a popular activity and is a very therapeutic hobby. The event showcased various plants cared for by provincial government employees as well as a plant dish landscaping contest. This initiative aims to provide provincial government employees an avenue not only to display their beloved plants, but to share and trade knowledge about their passion for gardening.
Staff from the Pangasinan Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) joined the plant dish landscaping contest and submitted entries for the following categories: Rare Plants, Succulents, Aerial/Hanging Plants, and Orchids. The Bolivian Jew or turtle vine entry of the PTCAO reportedly won third place in the Aerial/Hanging Plants category.
The awarding ceremony will be held on the last day of the event on April 29, 2021.
