Lingayen Cultural Mapping Project

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan, through the Center for Pangasinan Studies (CPS), and the Municipal Government of Lingayen, in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), embarked on a vital endeavor which is the Cultural Mapping Project (CMP) in the municipality of Lingayen.
As an indispensable and equally important component of the project, a 5-day Local Mappers’ Training was held last October 11 and 13-16, 2021, at the Casa Real, Lingayen, Pangasinan. Led by facilitators from the NCCA, the local mappers were trained on the proper identification and documentation of significant cultural properties in the municipality. The project, once completed, will not only enrich the culture and heritage awareness and appreciation of the people of Lingayen, but will also help the LGU in developing policies and programs anchored on tourism, cultural, and economic development.
